Three Kinds of Music You will find as you go to the Scriptures that there are three kinds of music. The strongest emphasis in the Scriptures is on sacred, worshipful music. A second kind of music is mentioned from time to time-music that is entertaining in nature, to lift your mood, perhaps to work by. And there is a third kind of music mentioned from time to time-degenerate music. Certainly, if you notice what is around you in the world, there seems today to be more degenerate music in our culture by far than there ever has been. Then again, there have always been “bar songs” and other entertainments that were sarcastic and derogatory toward other people, values and ideas. Why is this important? The musical staff consists of 5 horizontal lines and four spaces. It is what the notes are represented on.
